In the Music Real E111, Nicki chats with Samantha Morris an award winning Conservation and environmentalist who is one of Australia’s most proactive Music Industry champions. Samantha is a co-founder and director of the Gold Coast’s independent street magazine called Blank Gold Coast and she is the Founder of the Gold Coast Music Awards. We talk about what it was like to host the Gold Coast Music Awards online in April early on in the lockdown as well as ways that so many entrepreneurs got super creative and leveraged opportunities from the lockdown. Samantha is in the process of writing a book called Sounds of Paradise’ which will provide a historical snapshot of the venues, bands and personalities who shaped the Gold Coast cultural heart.
