In the Music Real E95, I chat with Leanne de Souza who is a Non-Executive Director of Nightlife Music, a trustee of the Queensland Performing Arts Trust (QPAC) and co-founder of the Rock and Roll Writers Festival. Recently, Leanne was engaged as a Curatorial Advisor for the Museum of Brisbane’s “High Rotation” exhibition and was listed as the 14th most influential person in the music industry for 2019. Leanne is a life-member of Q Music, and a long-term local advocate for contemporary music, artist managers and gender equity in the Australian music industry. I talk to her about “Kickstarting Australia’s Nightlife” program launched by Nightlife Music which supports both venues and artists while continuing to offer fee relief. Nightlife Music is one of Australia’s music business success stories starting in 1989 now servicing thousands of clients across all industries from hospitality, fitness, retail, accommodation, leisure, dining, cruising, education and entertainment. Leanne also talks about the latest ACCC determination to reauthorise APRA so make sure you check out her Fair Play articles in the links below. And make sure you check out the Australasian Performing Right Association Ltd application for revocation of authorisations A91367 – A91375 and substitution of new authorisation A1000433—determination
